It is needless to stay that there are herbs that give your skin a youthful and radiant look. These, I will be discussing today.

So, let’s get started…

What herbs do you need for radiant skin?

  1. Chamomile

If there is anything that chamomile is known for, it is a soothing and calming effect on the skin.

This herb is your go-to herb whenever your skin is irritated. It helps to soothe red skin, flaking, itching, swelling, burning, and tingling sensation – all of which can leaves scars and spots which do not only disfigure our skin but make it look older.

It is anti-inflammatory and helps to prevent flare-ups or inflamed skin conditions like acne, etc.

So, while you getting products for your skincare routine, it won’t be a bad idea to get one with chamomile.

You can also get a chamomile tea bag. Put in it hot water for two minutes to release the anti-inflammatory enzymes. Then, put the teabag in the fridge to cool off till it is cold. You can then apply it directly to your inflamed or irritated skin.

  1. Cinnamon

When it comes to anti-aging, cinnamon is one of your skin’s best friends.

It is commonly known for its healing and rejuvenating qualities. It can boost tired skin, making it look alive. It also aids the healing of skin wounds, scars, diseases, etc.

Cinnamon prevents your skin from losing its elasticity and also prevents the breakdown of collagen in the skin.

Constant application of cinnamon on your skin delays the appearance of aging signs on your skin.

You can mix cinnamon powder and honey together to create a homemade antiaging facemask for your skin.

Al you need is a teaspoon of cinnamon powder and a tablespoon of honey. Mix together and apply on your face. Leave for 10 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water.

  1. Ginger

Ginger is well known for healing properties as well as its contribution to wholesome living.

It contains anti-inflammatory properties and high levels of antioxidants that help to delay the appearance of aging signs on your skin.

Ginger also helps to fight against free radicals that cause oxidative stress and other harmful properties in your skin.

You can mix ginger, olive oil, and brown sugar to create a homemade face or body scrub.

All you need is 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of grated ginger, and 4 tablespoons of brown sugar. Mix all the ingredients and apply the scrub on your skin for five minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water.

To get the best from Ginseng, you need a teaspoon of ginseng powder, a cup of warm water and cotton balls.

Mix the powder in the cup of warm water and let the water cool. Then, you dip the cotton ball into the water and apply on your skin – all over your face and your neck.

You can leave this on your skin overnight and wash it off with warm water the next day.

  1. Rosemary

Rosemary is a very effective anti-aging herb.

The ultraviolet rays of the sun are one of the major causes of premature aging signs. It could lead to fine lines, wrinkles, spots, etc.

Rosemary helps to protect your skin from the damage caused by the sunrays. It prevents photodamage, delays aging signs, and improves your skin’s elasticity (which prevents skin problems like sagging skin).

To apply rosemary on your skin, you will need two sprigs of rosemary, one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and two cups of water.

Mix all the ingredients in a pot and boil the mix on medium heat. Let it heat up till the water level is reduced to half and let it cool.

Sieve out the liquid and pour it into a spray bottle. Apply as a toner on your skin daily.

Herbs do a lot of good to your skin – the right herbs though.

The best part is most of the herbs have natural healing properties which makes it easy for your skin to revive itself if you stick to applying these herbs regularly.

Just pick the one you are most comfortable with and begin to apply.
