How do I look naturally beautiful without makeup? This is one of the questions I get from a lot of women. 

Every time I talk about taking care of the skin or getting the flawless skin they deserve, I always include the need to stay away from makeup completely or how important it is to give their skin a break from makeup every week. 

The next thing that follows is this question, “I have skin blemishes on my face. How do I look beautiful if I don’t use makeup?”

Well, it is totally possible to still look naturally beautiful without makeup despite the acne, black spots, or whatever skin blemish you have on your face. 

Today, I will be sharing a few tips that can help you achieve that. But before we get started…

Remember, looking beautiful starts with your mind.

This might sound motivational (and might seem far from the practical steps you are looking for) but it is the most important tip of all. Whether or not you think you look beautiful is all in your head.

More than just looking beautiful, it is important to feel beautiful. You can apply all the makeup in the world, wear the best designers, look stunning, and still not feel that way.

You need to get used to the fact that skin blemishes do not decide whether or not you look beautiful. 

I know it can be very embarrassing and can kill one’s self-confidence. But you have to understand that skin blemishes do not make you ugly.  And the absence of skin blemishes does not make you beautiful either. You are beautiful with or without them!

With that being said, let’s get down to the practical tips that can help you look naturally beautiful without makeup. 

  1. Take your skincare very seriously

If want to let go of makeup, then you have to up your skincare game.

The goal is to have flawless and glowing skin. To get that, you need to follow a daily skincare routine. This means you have to cleanse your face, apply a toner, apply your eye serum, use a face serum (preferably one that treats the skincare problems you have), moisturize, and then, apply your sunscreen. 

Skincare routines help to protect your skin from any damage that will occur during the day. And at night, your routine helps your skin to heal from anything that might have harmed your skin. 

They do these while treating your skin from skin blemishes and ensuring you have flawless skin eventually.

2. Pay attention to your lashes 

With or without makeup, you should always pay attention to the eyes. Your eyes make you look beautiful. 

Get an eyelash curler. It makes your lashes look curly and longer without using mascara. If you want your lashes to look thicker, apply vaseline on them, and blend with an eyelash brush.

By the time you are done, your lashes will look fuller and longer without the help of makeup. 

3. Style your hair beautifully 

If you do not pay attention to your hair, now is the time to.

First, you need to make sure that your hair is clean. Shampoo your hair twice a week. Use a good conditioner. And make sure it is always neat.

When your hair starts looking rough, loose it, and make another hairstyle. Leaving a hairstyle on for weeks or months is not good for your hair. 

Make sure you style your hair beautifully – whether it is braids, weaves, or your natural hair. If your hair is rough or you are having a bad hair day, use a nice scarf to tie your hair. 

4. Get your lips popping 

Whenever you moisturize or exfoliate your face, do not forget your lips. They need it as well. Moisturizing and exfoliation give you smooth and full lips. 

Since you cannot use a lipstick (because you are staying away from makeup), use a lip balm instead. It keeps your lips moisturized. It prevents your lips from looking pale. It also makes sure that your lips are not looking chapped or dry. 

You can decide to go natural and use natural oils like olive oils, coconut oil, etc.

5. Step up your dress game

You need to shift focus from your face to your body. One way to do that is to dress well.

The time you would normally spend applying your makeup, use that time to pick a really killer outfit. Remember, your outfit does not only make you look good, it also gives you the confidence boost you need. 

So, take time to pick out your dress, your jewelry, a bag to match, and shoes that can take on the world.

Wear clothes that fit your body perfectly. Stay away from clothes that are either too loose or too tight. It is important to feel comfortable in your clothes. That way, you will not only look your best, but you will also feel your best. 

6. Sleep well

You need to get enough sleep. I mean eight hours of sleep every day. Your skin needs it. 

Without proper rest, your skin looks pale and eye bags begin to form under your eyes. Your face also looks tired.

Getting enough sleep gives your skin enough time to rejuvenate and heal whatever damage occurred to your skin during the day. Little wonder why when you sleep well, your face looks alive instead of pale.
