It is very common for a woman’s breast to fall after childbirth, because of constant breastfeeding. It can also be caused by aging and menopause.

For young ladies, it can be caused by malnutrition, wearing a bra that doesn’t fit, neglecting to take proper care of your breasts, weight loss and even weight gain, certain medical illnesses like breast cancer, tuberculosis, etc.

I will be sharing with you different ways you can make your sagging breast firm and plump. Let’s roll!

How to make sagging breasts plump and firm again

  1. Wear a well-fitted bra.

It is very wrong for a lady not to know her bra size. And it is very important that the bras you buy perfectly fit your breasts.

When you wear a bra that is bigger than your actual bra size, you are indirectly telling your breasts that it is okay for them to sag.

If your bra is well fitted, it gives your breasts all the support it needs to stay upright and well rounded. Your breasts then stay lifted and maintain their firm and plump look.

If possible, when you go to a lingerie store, you can ask to be fitted before you buy your bras. Most of these stores have a professional who can measure your bust and determine your current bra size.

For women with very big bust, you might need a bra with an underwire, a broader bra strap and a bigger back band so your breast can get all the support it needs.

  1. Massage your breasts every day.

It is very necessary that you give your breasts a massage every day.

Massaging increases the flow of blood in your breast. This also stimulates the production of collagen, which in turn improves the elasticity of your skin and makes your breasts’ skin firm.

The massage routine also helps to tighten your breast muscles.

You should massage your breast every day.  To ensure that your massage is effective, you should:

  • Cup your left breast with your right hands
  • Squeeze gently as though you are pumping in and out
  • Slowly move your hands outside, under, and top of your breast till you have covered every part of your breast.
  • Move to your right breast and repeat massage with your right hands
  • Do this for five (5) to ten (10) minutes
  1. Do not sleep on your side

The main cause of your sagging breast might be your sleeping position. Sleeping on your side is not good for your breast.

According to Roshini Rajapaksa, MD, Health’s contributing medical editor; sleeping on your side contributes a lot to saggy breasts. When you sleep like that, your breast dangles downwards and the ligaments in your breasts are stretched out.

Instead of sleeping on your side, you should sleep on your back. This reduces your chances of a saggy breast, because this position helps to give full support to the weight of your breasts.

  1. Exercise daily

Just as you need exercise to keep your body fit, you also need it to keep your breast firm and plump. Ensure that the exercises that you do focus on the upper part of your body.

You can perform push-ups, dumbbell chest press, and other exercises that target your chest area. These exercises help to strengthen the muscles in your chest and give you a better posture.

You can also take on swimming as a hobby. It strengthens the muscles in your joint, back, abdomen and your chest. It results in stronger muscles and muscles that are fully toned. This of course affects your breasts positively!

  1. Change your walking posture

Your body posture while you walk greatly affects your chest. It is important that while you walk, you keep your back straight. Even when you sit, sit in an upright position. Also walk with your shoulders pushed back.

If you are in the habit of walking or sitting with your back slightly bent, then you have to stop immediately. Such bad posture makes your pectoral muscles loose — which in turn causes your breasts to sag.

  1. Go natural

You can apply oils such as olive oil or carrot oil to your breast to help make it firm.

Whenever you massage your breast, you can use any of these oils. They restore your skin’s elasticity and stimulate the repair of skin cells.

Make sure you do not add too much. Three drops of oil on each breast is okay.

You can also use the aloe vera mix. All you need is 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel, 1 teaspoon of honey, and one teaspoon of mayonnaise. Mix well till they are fully blended and apply on your breast. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then, you can rinse off.

Do this twice to three times in week to improve your skin’s elasticity.

Conclusion

Instead of using push up bras to create the illusion of a plump breasts, try out these tips and make your breasts firm, plump and attractive. You could also opt for a breast lift surgery if you can afford it.

Most importantly, you should always be conscious of the changes in your breast, not just to prevent sagging but also to prevent major health issues.

    1. I made mention of essential oils because they are natural and have no toxic content. You are not to use creams on your breasts because of the chemicals they contain.

  3. Hello Fadekemi, your theories are beautiful, but when I was growing as a child my mum always told me not tire, wrappers and towels on my chest that it dose make the breast very flat sag too, also at senior high, my Red Cross tutor, also said if we still want the breast not to sag, we shouldn’t allow many hands on it. Now my worries are the push ups and others cos I do get sever chest ache after going for a walk or doing a little excesies. But for the massage am OK with that. Thanks KEMI.

    1. Lol. True…so many myths in the past about what makes the breasts sag or not!
As for the chest pain after exercising, it can be triggered by a lot of factors e.g heart burn, lung diseases, heart complications, etc. It is best you see your doctor to know exactly what is wrong.
      All the best, Aishatu!
