A sagging chin can also be called a double chin. This is because when your chin sags, it looks as if you have two chins.

It occurs when a new layer of fat grows under your chin.

It is caused by age, fat and genetics.

If you have a double chin, you might have inherited it from your parent’s genes…

It could be a sign that you are growing older and your skin is getting slack…

Or it could be because you consume a lot of fatty products. Lots of fat in the body leads to obesity and if you are obese, it is likely you have a double chin.

Whatever the cause might be, the good news is that there are a lot of things you can do to change it.

Let’s examine them one after another.

How to Reverse Sagging/Double Chin

1. Begin with a Healthy Food Diet

The truth is: the things you eat determine your body shape and how well your body functions.

So if you really want to get rid of that second chin, you might have to change what you eat.

a. Drink a Lot of Water

This is the easiest, but one of the most important things to do.

When you do not drink enough water, your body automatically begins to retain water and that is not healthy. When excess water and fat is stored in your chin, you get a double chin.

Drinking water also helps to flush out toxic content from your body.

So make sure that you go through the day with a bottle of water always beside you. If you can drink up to two litres of water daily, then you have done a good job.

b. Eat Lots of Vegetables and Fruits

Vegetables and fruits keep your body healthy. They also help to reduce body fat.

A proper combination of the right fruits and vegetables gives your body all the nutrients it needs.

Vegetables do not contain sugar or fat. They also supply water to your body and reduce the need for your body to store water or fat.

c. Eat Foods That Are Rich in Calcium

Calcium helps prevent your body from saving up fat in your chins or any part of the body. Calcium is very necessary especially if you are obese.

Foods rich in calcium include cheese, almonds, figs, yoghurt, etc.

d. Stay Away From Sugar

You should stay away from anything that contains sugar. Remember, you are trying to lose fat.

Soft drinks, candies, cakes, pastries, and other foods containing sugar should be seen as your number one enemy. Instead of soft drinks, take a bottle of water.

If you cannot stay without something sweet, take fruits instead. You could extract the juice from fruits and drink.

e. Say a Big “No” to Processed Foods

Eating processed foods increase the level of fat in your body at an alarming rate.

They contain saturated fat, sodium and other processing chemicals. Your body takes a longer time to burn off saturated fat because it first processes non saturated fats.

Eating processed food gives your body much more work to do and excess fat is stored in every part of the body, not just your chin.

f. Run Away From Salty Foods

If you are one of the people that cook with a lot of salt, please stop immediately. This is because; salt makes the body retain water that needs to be flushed out.

Salt contains sodium and sodium makes you fat.

Salt also dehydrates you. Not only would it increase the double chin, it leaves your skin dry. So please run as fast as you can away from salty foods.
