6 Superfast Ways to Make Your Skin Glow for Valentine

It’s the second week in February, and in a few days, it will be Valentine. I do not know about you, but I am pretty excited. I honestly can’t wait.

This is the season of love and the question that came to mind when I thought about today’s article is, “how can you show love to others if you do not know how to show love to yourself?”

It is totally impossible.

So today, we begin preparing for that special Valentine moment by first loving ourselves, and one of the ways to do that is to show love to your skin as you have never done before. Even though we have a few days to Valentine, we will make sure every single minute counts for our skin.

Are you with me?

The goal is this: Imagine dressing up for that wonderful night out with bae, and your skin is soft and glowing, you do not have to use so much makeup because your face is blemish-free and the best part is, your skin becomes a source of envy to every woman you come in contact with.

Now, that would be wonderful. So in this article, we will be exploring the different ways to achieve this.

Let’s begin:

  1. Make sure you stick to your skincare regimen like your life depends on it

This is not the time to go “one day off, one day on” with your skincare regimen.

The difference between you and that lady whose skin you admire is her skincare regimen. I think the first question I should be asking is: Do you even have a skincare regimen?

If your answer is no, then you are the sole reason your skin is still the way it is. Your skincare regimen is basically a beauty plan you follow strictly to help you improve your skin.

If you do not have one, well, all hope is not lost…

The first thing you need to do is get yourself the basic skincare products every woman must have. They include: a cleanser or beauty soap, moisturizer, toner, sunscreen, anti-acne cream, and eye cream.

Your skincare regimen should be one that allows you to apply these products daily. Each of them has a specific role they play in making your skin glow.

If you do not have a skincare regimen, then click you need to read this article IMMEDIATELY => 7 Things to Include In Your Beauty Regimen This November. (Don’t worry about the month; still applies to every other month.)

If you have a skincare regimen, make sure you follow it diligently. And then, let’s move on…

  1. Exfoliate your skin

Between now and Thursday, you need to exfoliate your skin.

Why? You might be wondering. The answer is simple. Exfoliation helps to remove dead skin cells from the surface of your skin and promotes the growth of new and healthy skin cells.

Dead skin cells are one of the major causes of skin blemishes. When they are removed, those blemishes begin to disappear, and your skin eventually becomes blemish-free.

So, how can you exfoliate your skin?

The word “exfoliation” might sound big, but the process involved in exfoliating is a lot simpler.

You can either use an exfoliating scrub, an exfoliating glove or a natural bristled brush. However, I advise you to use a mild exfoliating cream that is suitable for your skin type.

Gently apply your exfoliating cream or scrub on your skin in circular motions. If you are using a brush, make sure you use light strokes, nothing too hard. When you are done, rinse off with lukewarm water.

  1. Use a facial mask

When last did you use a facial mask on your face? I thought as much!

A facial mask does a lot to your skin. when you apply a facial mask, it removes dust, oil, makeup residue and other impurities on your face. It also makes your skin firm. It is a perfect way to deep-cleanse your skin.

Ultimately, it gives you a glowing skin.

So, if you haven’t used a facial mask before, or only done so in a long time, you can imagine what your skin has been missing.

Applying a facial mask is quite easy.

You need to wash your face with warm water or cleanse your face with a cleanser. If you have the time, it is better you treat your face to a facial steam before you apply your mask. This helps to unclog your skin pores so the mask can penetrate your skin.

After that, you apply your facial mask, preferably one that works for acne. You can use either a paintbrush or your fingertips to apply your mask. Let it sit for a few minutes (as instructed by the brand you are using), gently remove the mask and rinse your face with warm water.

Apply a moisturizer and you are done.

Note: If you are exfoliating today, then, use a facial mask tomorrow.

  1. Drink plenty and healthy

One of the worst things that can happen to your skin is dehydration. This is why you need to drink lots of water. It hydrates your skin from the inside out.

For the next few days, ensure that you have a bottle of water by your side always and take sips at regular intervals.

You might not like the next thing I am about to say, but you need to do it if you really want your skin glowing.

Stay away from soft drinks!

If you are the kind that takes beverages, caffeinated drinks, and soft drinks a lot, you are on your own. You are gradually but surely damaging your skin.

From today, instead of taking those drinks, go to the market, buy fruits, extract the juice from the fruits, refrigerate and drink. It’s that simple!!

And your skin will thank you for doing this.

  1. Get enough rest

The last thing you want on Thursday morning is to wake up with bags under your eyes. Now, that will be really bad.

To avoid this, make sure you get at least eight hours of sleep every night, starting from this night. When you sleep, your skin does not only rest but replenishes lost nutrients.

Apply the products in your nighttime regimen before bed and treat your skin to a long beauty sleep. You deserve it.

  1. Go the next few days without makeup on

Are you also saying: “this one cannot happen o”?

I totally understand, but Aunty, it has to happen o!

You cannot imagine the numerous benefits this holds for your skin. Giving your skin a break from makeup helps your skin to heal fast and replenish lost nutrients.

It basically gives room for your skin to breathe.

So, starting from today, we only apply the necessary skincare products from our skincare regimen, and that is all. No makeup at all.

In conclusion…
